01/07/2010 - RTGS/NEFT is closed Payments Holiday
01/07/2010 - is a ePayments Holdiay
RTGS/NEFT is closed due to the Half-Year Closing of Books of Reserve Bank of India.
As this is the middle of the week, and this being a scheduled holiday, all ePayments Users must have planned their activities well in advance.
The spill-over effect will be seen on Friday and Saturday.
However, as the NEFT Settlement Hours have been increased, there should be a smooth flow of transactions, without any bottle-necks anywhere.
The RTGS Customer timings on 30th June i.e tomorrow might be extended till 7.00pm, to enable customers to do a last minute juggling of funds, if required.
The real challenge would be to manage Clearing Adverse Situations on 1st July 2010, at locations where Clearing will be held as usual on 01/07/2010.

April 14th, 2010 - 14/04/2010 - RTGS/NEFT/ECS Closed
Today morning Reserve Bank of India, announced a Holiday on April 14th, 2010 - 14/04/2010 - RTGS/NEFT/ECS Closed. This is on account of Dr.Ambedkar Jayanti.
This holiday was a bit unexpected. Anyhow, as it is in the middle of the week/also month, there should not be much impact on the RTGS/NEFT transactions.
It should be a welcome break for the respective Bank's RTGS/NEFT centralised operations team members.
Enjoy

RTGS Holidays for 2010
RTGS Holidays for 2010
Reserve Bank of India, has declared the RTGS Holidays for 2010. The same are reproduced below.
In 2009, the number of RTGS Holidays were 14, apart from Sundays.
In 2010, the number of RTGS Holidays are 11, apart from Sundays.
This might be due to the fact, that many Festivals in 2010, are on Sundays. So, naturally, the number of holidays on other days are less.
Three holidays i.e September 11, 2010 - October 02,2010 - December 25, 2010, fall on saturdays. This means that ePayments will continously be closed for 2days at a strech.
